"Live at the City Lights Saloon
is pure magic....
.....a monster
Live recording"
“One of the finest live recordings released in this
or any other year!”

Well I can hardly believe it, but here we are at the end of another year. And while I was sitting around trying to figure out what would be most appropriate for my last column of the year I realize that so much has happened both nationally and on the local scene, that I couldn’t possibly fit it all in one column. So I decided to focus on what I consider to be the best releases of the |

year by two of my favorite artists. Of course I am speaking of Pat Guadagno’s Live at the City Lights Saloon, a monster live recording I have always admired the unique vocal and guitar playing talents of Pat Guadagno .Pat is the last of a dying breed, a real live, honest to goodness dyed in the wool saloon singer. And his debut release Live at The City Lights Saloon is one of the finest live recordings released in this or any other year for that matter. From first song to last this
recording is chockfull of musical gems by what I consider to be this areas
finest interpreter of songs. And while each and every song is a must listen,
some of my favs include Pat’s take on “I Take My Chances”,
“Bus Stop” “Six Words”, “When Rita
Leaves”, “Political Science” “Because”
“Chase the Buffalo” “All Along the Watchtower” and
“Don’t Let US Get Sick”. Recorded Live at City Lights
Studios in the wilds of Look , what you will find on these recordings are superlative efforts by two of our very best local artists. Pat Guadagno has gifted us with heartfelt songs of love, faith, hope, and devotion. And while I can not twist your arm and make you buy them I hope that after reading this column you will give this a good hard listen |
