BobFest - Pat Guadagno w/ Tired Horses
Monday May 19th at 7:30 PM
The Two River Theater - 21 Bridge avenue Red Bank NJ
On Monday May 19 Pat Guadagno and Tired Horses will host BobFest, the annual
celebration of Bob Dylan’s birthday at the Two River Theater in Red Bank NJ.
The event, which benefits the Rock & Roll Music Fund’s Tony Guadagno Memorial
Scholarship, is a Red Bank tradition that began nine years ago when Pat Guadagno
celebrated Bob’s birthday by singing "a couple of Dylan songs" to a small
audience at Red Banks Downtown Cafe. The event grew and will celebrate its third
year at the Two River Theater. Pat is joined by Tired Horses Rich Oddo , Red
River Rizzo, Rene Woolley, Andy McDonough, Yuri Turchin and Mary McCrink .
Pat Guadagno continues to receive the same critical raves as a recording artist
that he has always received as a performer. Music from his highly acclaimed
"Live at the City Lights Saloon" is being played on Sirius Radio and
his version of Warren Zevon's Don't Let Us Get Sick is featured in the hit Showtime
Series Californication , starring David Ducovney . Pat’s rendition of Dylan’s
“All Along the Watchtower” is a showcase of guitar virtuosity that Acoustic
Guitar World describes as “Rapid – fire picking with robust vocals". Now Toronto
Magazine writes “what sets him apart is his refusal to perform songs in anything
resembling their original style. His effortless intuitiveness gives old songs
new meaning".
At the event, the Rock & Roll Music Fund will present a check to the Berklee College of Music to endow the Tony Guadagno Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship fund will honor Tony’s legacy by providing financial support for aspiring young musicians for years to come. Outstanding bass players from New Jersey with a passion for rock and roll and enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston are eligible to receive this annual scholarship
On hand to MC the festivities will be Big Joe Henry. The show has sold out the past two years, so producer Tom Moog urges fans to get their tickets early and promises "a few cocktails, a lot of Dylan, a couple of surprises, and a lot of fun".|
